Piano Tribute to the Cure

New Tribute of The Cure 8909_lrg

Celebrating their 25th Anniversary, the Cure have come a long way from humble beginnings to become one of the biggest selling and best loved British groups in the world. Their first single in 1979, “Killing an Arab”, (based on an Albert Camus’ existentialist novel, L’Etranger) began their path of dark, nervy, post punk style.

The band then grew in both commercial and critical stature despite the music’s extremely bleak nature -- deliberately claustrophobic and uncompromising music that soon built them a core cult audience. They have survived through all the myriad musical trends of the last quarter century and leader Robert Smith’s is still the King of Goth, only his crown and royal cloak remain his trademark long-spiky hair and smeared lipstick.

VITAMIN Records’ latest offering, THE PIANO TRIBUTE TO THE CURE offers Cure fans an introspective, moving collection of their favorite Cure songs done both thoughtfully and gorgeously by David Ari Leon, one of the most talented pianists working today. Haunting, beautiful, and wonderfully moving renditions -- listeners with even the slightest appreciation for The Cure will be extremely pleased. Songs like “Lovesong”, “Jumping Someone Else’s Train”, and “Pictures of You” will astound those with the amazing transformations featured here. An absolute must have for any Cure fan, however casual or obsessive their music collection might be…
